It's ALL ABOUT branding. If I asked you where I could buy a book on the
Web, what site would spring to mind? If you said Amazon.com, you've been
branded. Now, ask that question of anybody who spends virtually NO TIME
online. I bet they'll answer Amazon.com, too. And branding, by the way,
doesn't come cheap. Walk into a television station and ask them to run
your advertisement JUST ONCE; they'd laugh you out of the building. Likewise,
if you only wanted to pay for results, you'd get laughed out of the country.
Still, these concepts are foreign to most Internet advertisers. Why? Because
they aren't thinking five years ago like the rest of us independent publishers
