MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING OF THE

VIRGINIA SKEET SHOOTING ASSOCIATION HELD ON 18 AUGUST 2007

AT ARROWHEAD GUN CLUB, VIRGINIA

Club Directors and Officers Present (total of 23 voting):

President (Richard Haynie), Ray Harding (Vice President), Treasurer (Doug Minnig), Secretary (Rebecca Myers), Al Talacek (Arlington-Fairfax), Ed Ellis (Arrowhead), Lee Lenhart (Buggs Island), Bill Rinkle (Brushy Mountain), Mark Scott (Chesapeake Bay), Ronnie Garlic (Dublin), Doug Frazier (Fairfax), Tom Williams (Farmville), Pat Knutson (Fort Lee), T. Call to Order:

President Richard Haynie called the meeting to order at 7.25 p.m.

Minutes of the November 2006 meeting were approved as presented.

Reports:

Treasurer Doug Minnig reported on that 2007 target fee revenue was down by 15%. A copy of his report is attached to the original of these minutes.

New Business:

President Haynie presented the slate of nominees for the offices of President, Vice President, Executive Committee (2), and Chief Referee. The Nominating Committee selections for these positions were: President: Ray Harding, Vice President: Charles Daniels, Executive Committee: Dick Singleton and Danny Patton, and Chief Referee: Robert Williams (incumbent).

Nominations from the floor for President were opened; none were received. A motion to close nominations for the position of President made by Pat Knutson was seconded and passed without opposition. President Haynie asked for all Directors who voted for Ray Harding as President to raise their hands and then all opposed. There were none opposed.

Nominations from the floor for Vice President were opened; none were received. A motion to close nominations for the position of Vice President made by Bob King was seconded and passed without opposition. President Haynie asked for all Directors who voted for Charles Daniel as Vice President to raise their hands and then all opposed. There were none opposed.

Nominations from the floor for Chief Referee were opened; none were received. A motion to close nominations for the position of Chief Referee made by Pat Knutson was seconded and passed without opposition. President Haynie asked for all Directors who voted for Robert Williams as Chief Referee to raise their hands and then all opposed. There were none opposed.

Nominations from the floor for two Executive Committee members were opened; none were received. A motion to close nominations for the two Executive Committee members made by Bob King was seconded and passed without opposition. President Haynie asked for all Directors who voted for Dick Singleton and Danny Patton as two Executive Committee members to raise their hands and then all opposed. There were none opposed.

Per the by-Laws the State Shoot for 2008 was offered to Fredericksburg at $6.00 per hundred targets and was accepted by Ray Harding as the Club Director. According to By-Laws the 2008 State Shoot dates will be August 20-24.

Pat Knutson reminded everyone that Richmond had been selected as the site of the 2008 Armed Services Championship and that that “was a very big deal”. Jim Stam noted that the Old Dominion would be the “pre-shoot” for the AFSC shoot and would be May 9-11 with the Armed Forces May 12 -16. Knutson also noted that he would be submitting a By-Laws amendment proposal regarding proof shells at the State shoot.

Jim Stam noted that Richmond would be honored to host the 2nd Sunday in November (the 11th) 2007, Directors’ meeting starting at 11 a.m.

Discussion then broke out regarding Fields 9 and 10 at Fredericksburg and related rotation scheduling for the 2008 State Shoot.

Motion to adjourn was made by Wayne Erskine at approximately 8:15 p.m., was seconded, and passed without opposition. The discussion continued following adjournment.
