Minutes of the November 2003 meeting were not available for review.

Treasurer Tom Contrucci reported that the association was on budget relative to projected revenue and state shoot expenses.

New Business:

Doug Frazier proposed that the state shoot bid be increase by $0.25 to $5.75. A short discussion followed the seconding of the motion. It was approved with none opposed. There was also a proposal to amend the Bylaws to change the date of the State Championship to Labor Day Weekend. That proposal will be considered at the November business meeting.

The State Shoot for 2005 was offered to Fredericksburg at $5.75 per hundred targets which was accepted by Jeff Pickett as the Club Director. Jeff also reported that the Club intended to have at least 4 new skeet fields (maybe as many as 6) ready to use (for a total of 12) in time for the shoot. The 2005 State Shoot will be held August 26-28.

President Haynie next presented the slate of nominees for the offices of Secretary, Treasurer, Executive Committee (2), and Chief Referee. The Nominating Committee selections for these positions were:

Secretary: Rebecca Myers

Treasurer: Tom Contrucci

Executive Committee: John Eklund

Nunzio Litterio, Jr

Tom Szelest

Chief Referee: Robert Williams

There were no additional nominations from the floor. The nominations were then closed and votes cast.

The Secretary, Treasurer and Chief Referee were elected by voice vote (none opposed).

The result of balloting on the Executive Committee nominees were as follows: John Eklund - 17 votes, Nunzio Litterio, Jr. – 7 votes, Tom Szelest – 17 votes.

President Haynie announced that the November business meeting would be held at the Richmond IWLA Club on Sunday, November 14 at 11 a.m.

Jeff Pickett made a motion to designate the Richmond IWLA Club as the Association choice for host of the 2005 Zone II Championship. After a second and some discussion, the motion carried. (Virginia was the next state in rotation to host the Zone and it is the responsibility of the state association to choose a host club.)

After a short discussion it was decided to release the perpetual trophies which still had engraving room to the 2004 champions but retain those (20 gauge bowl and 5 Man Team trophies) which no longer had room for engraving. The possible solutions of adding pedestals or replacing the filled bowls would be discussed and resolved at the November business meeting. Whether or not to continue the traditional of “traveling” trophies will also be a subject for discussion at the November business meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:10 p.m.

Rebecca A. Myers

Secretary, VSSA (elect)
