Minutes of the November Board of Directors meeting of the
Virginia Skeet Shooting Association held on November 10, 2003
At the Fort Lee Club, Virginia

VSSA President, Eric Lowe, called the meeting to order at 11 AM

Call to Order

The minutes from the November 2002 and the August 2003 State Shoot Board of Directors meeting were presented and accepted as written.

President Lowe noted that there was no Executive Committee activity to report.

New Business

2004 Budget -- The Treasurer presented a proposed budget for shoot year 2004. There was discussion as to what a target level should be for a cash "cushion" for VSSA. A motion was made and passed to target a level of $6000. Also, a motion made and passed to pay the annual advertising fee of $250 to the VASKEET.COM web site.

Shoot Schedule -- The proposed shoot schedule for 2004 was presented. Following revisions, a motion was made and passed to accept the schedule. Several clubs have not yet submitted shoot date requests.

Proposed by-law Changes - There were three proposed changes to the by-laws:

1. Add Sub-Junior Team and Senior Veteran Team to the list of concurrent teams.
2. Allow Junior World targets for all shooters not just juniors
3. Allow Armed Services Skeet Championship targets for Military and Retired Military Teams only
4. Add Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior Veteran state teams
5. Delete date reference for obtaining data from NSSA for state team selection
6. Allow individuals to e-mail the Secretary (as well as write) to request an exclusion from State Team eligibility

A motion was made and approved to accept all 6 by-law changes.

The approved change will be incorporated in the by-laws. Clubs should note the change in their copy of the by-laws.

Sportsman of the Year - Kathy Moscoe (Chair), Ken Hutcherson, John Daubenschmidt

Referee of the Year - Robert Williams (Chair), Larry Lucas, Bill Garrett

State Team Selection - Pat Knutson (Chair), Tom Contrucci

Other New Business

Clubs should send their VSSA Shoot Reports with checks directly to the Treasurer. The paper or electronic copies of the detailed shoot data can be included in the report to the Treasurer or sent directly to the Secretary.

A 5-man team fun shoot (non-registered targets) will be held at the Richmond club in March 2004.

A motion for adjournment was made and passed and meeting adjourned.
