The Nominating Committee selections for these positions were: Treasurer: Doug Minnig (incumbent), Secretary: John Daubenschmidt, Executive Committee: B. K. Rowley (incumbent) and William Chiswell (incumbent), and Chief Referee: Robert Williams (incumbent).

Nominations from the floor for all offices were opened; none were received. A motion to close nominations for all positions was made by Pat Knutson, was seconded, and passed without opposition. A motion to elect all candidates by acclimation was made by Pat Knutson, was seconded, and passed without opposition.

Richmond Director Jim Stam addressed the members of the Board announcing that the Richmond club's Board of Directors had passed a resolution that they would no longer be responsible for alcoholic beverages nor food at any shoot hosted by their club. The Board had authorized Mr. Stam to respond to the VSSA state shoot bid at $4.00/100 without dinner.

Per the VSSA By-Laws, the State Shoot for 2009 was offered to Richmond at $6.00 per hundred targets; since their bid was non responsive to our By-Law requirements it was accepted as a decline of the Board's offer. The shoot was then offered to Arrowhead and Fredericksburg in turn; it was declined by both Directors. This process was repeated, with the bid number moving up $.25 each time, as proscribed by our By-Laws, until it reached $7.00; Ed Ellis then accepted on behalf of Arrowhead.

According to our current By-Laws the 2009 State Shoot will be held on the third weekend in August (14-16) 2009.

President Ray Harding announced that the November Business Meeting of the VSSA Board of Directors would be held at the Richmond club on 9 November 2009 (2nd Sunday in November) starting at 11 a.m.

The Board accepted Doug Frazier's motion to host the Zone 2 Championship at Fairfax Rod & Gun Club the second weekend in August (date set by NSSA) without discussion and without opposition.
A motion to move the date of the Virginia State Championships in 2009 back one week (to August 21-23) to provide a week's separation between the Zone and the State was made by Doug Frazier and seconded. Following a wide-ranging discussion which included the point that the Board couldn't change the State Shoot weekend without amending the By-Laws, Pat Knutson moved to table; his motion was seconded. With one vote in opposition, Mr. Frazier's motion was tabled to the November meeting.

Motion to adjourn was made at 8:13 p.m., was seconded, and passed without opposition
